The Glasto Ticket Playbook
For your booking group of six, for the next Glastonbury sale. Built from official guidance and published coverage of every recent sale, with every claim sourced.
The short version
- 1. All six of you queue. One device, one tab, your own connection each.
- 2. Be in the waiting room by 8:50. Then don't refresh.
- 3. First person through books all six. Details pasted, card ready, £600 deposit.
- 4. Stay in until the site says sold out.
Your 90 minutes
Times assume a 9am sale. For a 6pm sale, shift everything by nine hours.
- 8:00
Read this, all six of you
Ten minutes. Everyone in the group should read it now, not at 8:55.
- 8:10
One pinned note with all six details
Every person's registration number and the exact postcode they registered with, in one note everyone can copy from. Everyone 13 or over needs their own registration. A wrong postcode is the classic way to lose a ticket at the last step.

Agree the rule: first through books all six
Whoever reaches the booking page first books the whole group. Nobody waits to be asked. Decide now who tells the chat, and that nobody leaves the queue until the booking is confirmed.
- 8:20
Money ready on every buyer's card
The deposit is £100 per person, so £600 for a group of six, by debit or credit card. Every person in the queue should be able to pay it: check the balance or limit and open your banking app, because the bank's security check will pop up at the worst moment.

One device, one tab, your own connection
Each person uses one device with one tab, on their own connection (home broadband, or their own mobile data). The festival's guidance is one tab or device per connection, and warns that many tabs or devices can look like a bot and get blocked. Turn off any VPN, close other tabs, plug in, and stop the screen from locking.

Into the waiting room
Open glastonbury.seetickets.com and stay there. The festival recommends joining at least 10 minutes before. Anyone who arrives after 9:00 joins the back of the queue.

Your place is drawn at random
Everyone already waiting gets a random place, and a progress bar shows how close you are. Being there at 8:15 or at 8:50 makes no difference: what matters is being there before 9:00. Do not refresh while you're queuing.

The booking page: paste, check, pay
Paste each registration number and postcode, check the photos shown back to you are your group, then pay. In 2025 booking sessions lasted 10 minutes and tickets were not allocated until payment was processed. Some guides suggest the window may be shorter, so work as if it is.

Don't give up at 'all allocated'
If you see a message that all available tickets have been allocated, the festival's advice is to refresh: orders that can't be completed go back on sale. It isn't over until the site says sold out.

Each person's checklist
- I have all six registration numbers and registered postcodes in one note
- My card can take a £600 deposit and my banking app is open
- One device, one tab, VPN off, other tabs closed
- Charger plugged in, screen won't auto-lock
- I'm on my own connection, not the same Wi-Fi as everyone else in the group
- I'm in the waiting room by 8:50
- I know the rule: first through books all six and tells the chat
Myths versus what the festival says
“Hammering refresh gets you through faster”
Since 2025 the queue is a random draw at the start time. Refreshing while queuing can lose your place.
Source: Euronews, November 2024“More tabs and devices means more chances”
The festival warns that many tabs or devices can look like a bot and get a connection blocked. One device per person, on separate connections, is the safe version of 'more chances'.
Source: Time Out, November 2024“Joining at 8am beats joining at 8:55”
Everyone on the page before 9:00 is drawn at random. Just don't be late: after 9:00 you go to the back.
Source: Glastonbury Festival 2027 ticket FAQ“It's over once the first wave sells”
Failed and unpaid orders return to the sale. Stay in until the official sold-out message.
Source: eFestivals, October 2026“A group of six who all try has a far better chance”
Each person who queues is another independent draw for the same six tickets. See the group maths below.
The group maths
Nobody knows anyone's exact odds, so here are illustrations. If each person who queues has the chance in the left column of reaching the booking page, this is the chance that at least one of your group gets there, assuming each place is drawn independently.
| Each person's chance | 1 queues | 3 queue | All 6 queue |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5% | 5% | 14% | 26% |
| 10% | 10% | 27% | 47% |
| 15% | 15% | 39% | 62% |
Illustrative arithmetic, not a prediction.
What our survey found
We're still collecting answers from people who tried in October. Once enough are in to say something reliable, we'll add the findings here, comparing people who got tickets with people who missed out.
Add your answersHow fast past sales went
| Sale | Coach + ticket | General sale |
|---|---|---|
| 2027 sale (Oct 2026) | Under 30 minutes | Held Sunday 4 October 2026, 9am Source: TicketNews, October 2026 |
| 2025 sale (Nov 2024) | About 25 to 32 minutes | 35 minutes Source: Mixmag, November 2024 |
| 2024 sale (Nov 2023) | About 25 minutes | Just under an hour Source: The Independent / AOL, November 2023 |
| 2020 sale (Oct 2019) | 27 minutes | 34 minutes, around 135,000 tickets, 2.4 million registrations Source: The Guardian, October 2019 |
The lesson: the general sale has lasted roughly 35 to 60 minutes. If you're still in the queue at 9:30, you're still in it.
If it doesn't happen this time
If one of you gets in, help another group
Once your six are booked, anyone still queuing can use their place to book for another group of six from your wider syndicate, using their details.
The April resale
Returned and cancelled tickets go to an official resale in spring 2027. Recent resales sold out in roughly 20 to 35 minutes, and the same preparation applies.

If anyone's registration or postcode was wrong this time, fix it before the resale. No registration, no ticket.

This playbook gives practical guidance and patterns from real answers. It can't guarantee a ticket: sales are run by Glastonbury Festival and See Tickets, and their rules and on-screen instructions always come first. Did You Get In? is an independent survey.
